Grapevine, TX - AAS 2017 - Tom Hockey receives Osterbrock Prize at the HAD Osterbrock Prize session at the American Astronomical Society's (AAS) 229th annual meeting at the Gaylord Texan hotel here today, Tuesday January 3, 2017. The American Astronomical Society (AAS), established in 1899 and based in Washington, DC, is the major organization of professional astronomers in North America. The annual meeting is the premier astronomical event with more than 2,300 astronomers, educators, industry representatives, and journalists in attendance and at least 1,600 oral and poster presentations scheduled.
