George Field (Harvard-Smithsonian CfA) was awarded the Society's prestigious Henry Norris Russell Lectureship for a lifetime of a lifetime of contributions to our basic understanding of diffuse plasmas in the universe that continue to motivate current astronomers. Unable to travel, Freeman gave his Russell Lecture, "A Historical and Scientific Perspective on Harvard College Observatory and CfA," via video on Thursday afternoon.
